"My name is Bennita McCoy. I have worked at Future Choices since 2007 and
have been the Program Coordinator for our Bright-Eyed Senior Program since 2017.
Our Bright-Eyed Senior Program serves individuals age 55 and older with low vision,
providing them with tools to help them live independently in their communities. Our goal
is to help these individuals maintain or increase their independence, safety, and quality
of life, enabling them to live more fully in their communities.
We serve several counties in Central Indiana, including Blackford, Delaware, Grant,
Howard, Madison, Randolph, Tipton, and Jay. Our program helps older adults who are
blind or visually impaired by providing orientation and mobility training as well as
adaptive skills training to adjust to vision loss. We also connect individuals with optical
aids or modifications, offer in-home training to support daily living, provide peer
counseling for emotional support, and give information and referrals to additional
community resources."
