At Macha Eye Care our experienced optometrists understand that your sight is priceless. We are committed to offering full scope personalized eye care and eyewear for you and your family. We listen as you express your eye care concerns and address any questions that you may have. We want to make sure you can see as clearly as possible and that your eyes remain healthy. Many eye diseases have no symptoms, so the only way to know that your eyes are healthy is to have a complete eye examination at least once a year.
We take a thorough history to understand your general and eye health. The eyes and body are connected, so if there are issues with your general health, such as diabetes or high blood pressure, they may affect your eyes and vice versa. Many eye diseases run in families, so knowing about family health issues is also important.
We check your vision and prescription to see if you need glasses or contact lenses to correct for refractive errors including nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism or age-related reading problems. Further testing checks your binocular vision (how your eyes work together), depth perception and peripheral vision.
A slit lamp biomicroscope is used to thoroughly examine the front surface of the eye, as well as check for cataracts, a clouding of the lens inside the eye. Our practice uses digital retinal photography, Optomap widefield imaging, and optical coherence tomography (OCT) to get a clear, wide, deep view of the retina at the back of the eye for diagnosis and documentation. We also use tonometry to measure the pressure inside the eye which, if high, is a risk factor for glaucoma, a progressive disease that reduces peripheral vision.
Age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and other eye diseases can all be detected and monitored.
Our commitment to you doesn’t end when you leave the doctor’s exam room. At Macha Eye Care we have a full dispensary with quality frames and lenses. Our dedicated staff include American board certified opticians (ABO) who will help you choose the best eyewear for your visual needs and fashion sense. If you are interested in contact lenses for daily wear, sports or occasional use, our optometrists will discuss the options with you and fit you with the most appropriate lenses for your eyes. We also offer vision therapy, sports vision training and refractive surgery co-management. We are here to help you maximize your vision with quality products and services.
